Jackets and hats get most of the attention, but they’re far from the only place a custom patch belongs. Based on what we actually produce day to day, here’s the full range of where custom patches show up.
Bags & Backpacks
One of our most common non-jacket requests. A patch on a backpack or bag turns a plain item into something personal — whether it’s a brand logo, a design for a gift, or just a way to make a bag easy to spot. Sizing works the same way as any other placement: bigger surface area means you can go larger without looking cramped.
Vests
Beyond biker vests (which have their own established patch traditions), we regularly produce patches for other types of vests — tactical vests, work vests, event staff vests. The placement principles are the same as jackets: a larger back patch, smaller front and accent patches, sized to the vest’s actual proportions.
Hoodies
Hoodies are genuinely one of the most common items we put patches on, right alongside jackets. The extra fabric real estate on a hoodie front or back gives more flexibility for larger, bolder designs than a fitted t-shirt would allow.
Hard, Smooth Surfaces — Walls, Glass & Events
Not every patch goes on fabric. For smooth, hard surfaces like walls, glass, or event displays, we produce patches with peel-and-stick adhesive backing instead of iron-on or sew-on. This is common for event branding, temporary displays, and situations where you want a patch-style design on a surface that can’t be stitched or heat-pressed at all.
Choosing the Right Backing for the Surface
The surface determines the backing, not personal preference:
- Fabric (jackets, hoodies, bags, vests): iron-on, sew-on, or velcro depending on the material and how permanent you want it
- Hard, smooth surfaces (walls, glass, event displays): peel-and-stick adhesive backing
